Now that I am mastering the tasks I am assigned...and have time to look around I am noticing slackers who are shirking their responsibilities at every opportunity..
very aggravating..

If you want an eye opener.
Look up your company with Google.

You're gonna be part of those slackers after you ease into work, don't worry about it.
You only think that way because it's your first week.

@OP
Apply for a management position and then get the slackers in line.

Most people dont reallt cate about theor jobs. Its just something they do to make cash. I would heavily advise you dont pick up the slack or esle youll be on the hook for it the rest of your employment there.

...and you're annoyed that your co-workers are slacking off?

I don't slack at work...always give 110 percent..

> i give 110%

Then youre a fool. You should only work just hard enough not to get fired otherwise youre on the losing end.

@previous (H)
That's true. Doing that only makes them expect you to do yours, and every one else's job.

I'll give at least 60%. Sometimes less.

I kinda know that...having experienced many jobs over several jobs...I just can't help it though...it just seems I'm wired that way..

It's probably some kind of low self esteem issue where I think by doing that I'll be accepted...or something..

Maybe you just grew up in a different time. These days employees are expendable assets whatever their PR says and the younger crowd is getting wise to it. The day is coming when the boomers are going to retire or die off en masse and employers are gonna get the screws put on them. Until then do your part and dont let yourself be abused. It hurts not just you but the youngernkids coming through the ranks.
