Topic: Problems with LASIK, or Why not to get LASIK surgery

+Syntax2 months ago #46,371

lasik.jpg#1 problem w/ LASIK is DRY EYES which ppl can get for years after the surgery or worse, permanent.

Marguerite McDonald, MD: "With LASIK, roughly half of my patients had dry eye complaints after surgery - and in about half of these, the symptoms were severe." RefractiveEyecare.com December 2005

DRY EYES affects almost all who take LASIK just after the surgery, and with different levels of severeness that can LAST years.

other problem is w/ night vision and seeing haloing

these problems including DRY EYES is known by the FDA even with all the biased eye doctors that love to recommend this surgery 4 u to get more COLD HARD CASH at your expense

don't play lottery w/ your eyes and just get GLASSES OR CONTACTS instead

I had lasik done about 3 years ago. The dry eyes went away after about a year and a half. Small price to pay for 20/20.

Yeah everyone I know has no problems with modern lasik

OP is spreading needless fear, when he hasn't even done it himself!

the truth is out there - this guy mentioned he 2 got dry eyes for a year+ @504,403 (D)
problem w/ LASIK is that the side effects are only studied for a short while after the surgery NOT NOT NOT long term side effects
so you get eye doctors lining up their pockets w/ cash while your eyes are ruined

this is a COP OUT - just because you have nothing 2 say doesn't mean it invalidates all the research done on LASIK side effects

90% of your references are biased websites with anti-lasik agenda...

When wikipedia is your most valid source, maybe you should rethink your argument.

clone-army-white in helmets.jpgOP for a faggot Imp you need to take a breath of Oxygen

Just breathing clean quality air is damaging to Human Body but not so much to Automobile except rubber parts which Oxygen eats like crazy

Oxygen is killing us. While its role as the breath of life is well known, the destructive nature of oxygen is more clandestine, slowly chipping away at our health until symptoms emerge. Oxygen can break down the very cells that make up our tissues and organs, our bones and blood. It can damage DNA and critical enzymes.Aug 29, 2010

@previous (chili dog !!heHjtrQ7i)
Yeah man I want to be able to apply makeup without leaning all the way to the mirror so I'm an inch away , and I'd like to go out in the rain and enjoy it instead of have my vision clouded with drops
